Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainians have opened 90 thousand companies in Poland

Since 2022, Ukrainians have opened almost 90 thousand companies in Poland.

Most of them were registered as sole proprietorships – 77.7 thousand, or 9% of all companies registered in this way in the country during this period. The remaining 11.3 thousand companies are enterprises with Ukrainian capital.

“The growth in the number of Ukrainian enterprises in Poland clearly illustrates not only the activity and adaptability of Ukrainians, but also structural changes in the Polish labor market. Many Ukrainians who used to work for hire are now choosing the path of self-employment or starting their own business,” says Yuriy Hryhorenko of the Gremi Personal analytical center.

Of all the sole proprietorships opened in Poland in 2024, 12% were owned by Ukrainian citizens.

The most popular areas of activity of Ukrainian companies are:

  • construction (23%)
  • information and communications (18%);
  • other services such as hairdressing, cosmetics, etc. (13%).

The number of Ukrainian companies in Poland has been growing annually by an average of 34% over the past three years.
