The increase in shipments of sunflower, oil and meal from Ukraine continued in June by optimizing and solving the logistics problem.

Sunflower exports may reach a historical maximum based on the results of the 2021/22 MR season. This was stated by Svitlana Kupreyeva, oil market analyst of UkrAgroConsult.

“In the conditions of high stocks of agricultural crops and the approach of the active phase of harvesting operations, the record export reduces the tension on the market and the load on elevator capacities and becomes a positive moment for the Ukrainian agricultural sector,” the expert explains.

She also noted that sunflower domestic market prices are decreasing, the current price level is 54% lower than the level at the time of the start of Russia’s military operations on the territory of Ukraine and 37% lower than the start of the 2021/22 FY.

“Despite the drop in prices, sunflower is expected to remain one of the most marginal crops in the new season,” the expert concluded.
