The most exported commodity in Ukraine has been named

In January-February 2025, corn became the most exported commodity from Ukraine, with its share in the total export structure amounting to 16%.

Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has exported 4.7 mln tons of this grain crop, worth USD 982 mln. Corn has become a key export commodity, accounting for 26.5% of agricultural exports and 16% of Ukraine’s total exports.

Most of the corn was exported to:

  • Spain – 933 thousand tons;
  • Italy – 725 thousand tons;
  • Turkey – 639 thousand tons;
  • Egypt – 593 thousand tons;
  • Netherlands – 514 thousand tons.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) published an updated global forecast of the balance of major crops for the 2024-2025 marketing year. For Ukraine, analysts forecast an increase in corn production by 0.3 mln tons to 26.8 mln tons.

The Ukrainian corn market continues to maintain a stable pace of exports. But the situation with pricing may change in the coming weeks. Drought in Argentina and delays in the planting season in Brazil will boost demand for Ukrainian grain. Ukraine may remain one of the main suppliers of corn to the global market in March and April. Currently, corn prices on the Ukrainian market are in the range of USD 215-216 per ton.
