Ukraine and Moldova to mutually recognise education documents and academic degrees

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a Resolution “On the Approval of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on the Mutual Recognition of Education Documents and Academic Degrees.”

The resolution establishes the legal basis for the implementation of the Agreement, signed on 25 January 2025, between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on the mutual recognition of education documents and academic degrees.

“From now on, Ukrainian diplomas and academic degrees will be recognised in Moldova, and vice versa – Moldovan education documents will be recognised in Ukraine through a simplified procedure. This signed agreement is a significant step for our countries, as it opens new opportunities for education, employment, and professional and educational mobility for citizens of both nations,” said Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

“This is just the first step in a broader process of recognising documents and supporting our citizens on both sides of the border. Ukrainians will be able to study, work, and fulfil their potential more easily, without facing bureaucratic barriers,” added Oleksiy Chernyshov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.

The Agreement provides for the mutual recognition of education documents, periods of study, and academic degrees issued in Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova in accordance with the national legislation of both states.
