An audit of the state control system for the production and circulation of beef has begun in Ukraine; passing it successfully is a prerequisite for opening the UK market to Ukrainian products.
The audit will run from 7 to 17 September 2026. Over seven working days, experts will assess the state control system at all stages of the production and export chain, from cattle rearing to slaughter, product processing and the issuance of export veterinary certificates.
What will be inspected during the audit
As part of the audit, experts will assess:
Specialists from the central office and territorial bodies of the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, veterinary medicine laboratories, and representatives of Ukrainian enterprises are involved in the audit.
Opening the UK market will expand opportunities for Ukrainian exporters
The audit is one of the key stages of the procedure for approving access for Ukrainian beef to the UK market.
Positive results from the assessment of the state control system will lay the groundwork for further agreement on export conditions and veterinary requirements between the competent authorities of Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
