Ukraine joins global cooperation on safe AI development

South Korea hosted the second global summit on the safe development of artificial intelligence technologies. At the previous summit held in the UK, the participating countries signed the Bletchley Declaration.

AI development has significant potential for the Ukrainian economy and society. The technology can help improve efficiency in various industries, as well as facilitate the emergence of new products and services. At the same time, it is important that the use of AI is ethical and responsible – for the benefit of people, not to cause harm.

The summit participants agreed on a Ministerial Statement, to which Ukraine joined. In total, 27 countries and EU representatives joined the statement, which focuses on three goals: security, innovation, and inclusiveness of AI.

“ Participation of Ukraine in the AI Seoul Summit and signing of the ministerial statement is a clear signal of our commitment to responsible and ethical AI development. We are already actively working on the implementation of AI in various areas, boosting the development of the Ukrainian economy and improving the lives of our citizens,” said Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Georgiy Dubinsky, who represented Ukraine at the summit.

Ukraine has also published a roadmap for AI regulation.
