During January-May 2025, Ukraine imported goods worth $31.3 billion and exported goods worth $16.9 billion.

At the same time, taxed imports amounted to $23.8 billion, which is 76% of the total volume of imported goods.

The tax burden per 1 kg of taxed imports in January-May 2025 amounted to $0.51/kg.

Countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods: China – $6.5 billion, Poland – $2.9 billion, and Germany – $2.6 billion.

Ukraine exported most of its goods to: Poland – by $2 billion, Turkey – by $1.4 billion, and Italy – by $1 billion.

The following categories of goods accounted for 68% of the total volume of goods imported in January-May 2025

• machinery, equipment and transport – $11.9 billion, during the customs clearance of these goods, UAH 75.6 billion was paid to the budget, which is 29% of customs revenues

• chemical products – $5.2 billion, UAH 41.0 billion was paid to the budget during the customs clearance of these goods, which is 15% of customs revenues;

• fuel and energy – $4 billion, UAH 72.6 billion was paid to the budget during the customs clearance of these goods, which is 27% of customs revenues.

The top three most exported goods from Ukraine are:

• food products – $9.7 billion
• metals and metal products – $1.9 billion
• machinery, equipment and transport – $1.5 billion

In the first 5 months of 2025, UAH 121.6 million was paid to the budget during customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties.
