DTEK Dnipro Grids invested $21.3 mln in energy infrastructure

In 2019, DTEK Dnipro Grids invested $21.3 mln in the modernization of lines and equipment, as well as the introduction of new technologies as part of the investment program.

The major part of investments was spent on construction and modernization of electrical networks – $14.9 mln. As a result, more than 112 kilometers of lines in the cities of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Novomoskovsk and Pavlohrad were reconstructed.

More than 30 kilometers of 35 kV high voltage lines were also reconstructed, including 18.5 kilometers of the only spare line for one of the key railway junctions – the station “Piatykhatky”.

170 units of outdated oil-filled equipment were replaced at the energy facilities. Instead of them eco-friendly and fireproof vacuum switches and transformer bushings with RIP-insulation, which reduces the risk of emergency shutdowns were installed.

To respond promptly to customer requests and emergencies in the power grid, $1.1 mln was invested in the renewal of the transport fleet of repair and field service teams. In total, 27 units of modern motor vehicles and special equipment were purchased.

In 2019, DTEK Dnipro Grids invested more than $0.9 mln in the installation of “smart” (multi-zone) meters. Today Dnipropetrovsk Region is the leader in the number of such modern metering devices among DTEK Networks. There are 263 thous. devices installed in the region. Every fifth family is provided with “smart” meters.

For the immediate elimination of the accident, the outdated telecontrol devices of the electrical grids in Vasylkivskyi and Mahdalynivskyi districts were replaced. New modern devices provide complete control over substations. In total, 20 substations have been renewed for $0.6 mln.

Another $3.8 mln was directed to the development of information technologies, communication systems, the purchase of tools and personal protective equipment, etc.
