On April 1, 2019, a meeting between Valentyna Zatyshniak, Director of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Investment Agency (DIA) and a group of investors from the Republic of Korea (KT CONSULTANT and Engineering Co Ltd, DH Solar Korea Co. Ltd, Choice Investment Co) took place.
The meeting was organized to discuss the prospects for future cooperation, namely: attracting foreign investment, entering enterprises of Dnipropetrovsk region in the Korean market, implementing joint projects.
Korean partners assess our region as attractive for future investments and are considering an opportunity to expand partnerships and invest in the development of infrastructure projects in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
During the meeting, Investment passport of the Dnipropetrovsk region was presented, as well as the Catalog of investment projects and proposals in priority areas, such as: industry, construction, logistics, agriculture, alternative energy.
“Each project is unique, for example, a project to create an air cargo hub, which will increase transit traffic through the Dnipro air gate and will make Dnipropetrovsk region a platform for successful business development. Another unique project is a project on the application of polymers on galvanized steel and aluminum. Currently, there is no modern producer in Ukraine, and 100% of such products are imported from other countries,” said Valentyna Zatyshniak.
In Ukraine, there are 28 enterprises with Korean capital, 2 of which are located in the Dnipropetrovsk region (Fira Ltd “ALGOL LTD” and UKRAINIAN-KOREAN Ltd “SEOUL-TRANS-IMPEX”). All the largest Korean companies, in particular, Samsung, LG, Hyundai, are also represented in Ukraine.
The volume of Korean investments in the economy of Ukraine in 2018 amounted to $ 201.7 mln, they entered such areas as industry (150 mln), wholesale and retail trade, repair of vehicles and motorcycles (3.3 mln), professional, scientific and technical (47.7), and other. And these figures can be significantly increased.
