The Centravis company will produce 75 tons of seamless pipes for the American power plant Alabama Power, located near Wilsonville (Alabama). This is stated in the press release of the company.
The term of the agreement is the third quarter of 2023. The pipes will be used for the boiler at the power plant. The supply agreement was reached by the American office of the company
Alabama Power was built in the 1960s, after which several stages of modernization took place. In recent years, the power plant has been increasing its capacity to produce electricity from natural gas. The total capacity of the facility is more than 1.8 GW.
“For us, such orders are an achievement and a challenge at the same time. We understand the level of responsibility and, at the same time, we are satisfied that we managed to convince of the advantages of our product in such a competitive market as the American one,” said Dmytro Kyselenko, a representative of the US office of Centravis.
Centravis is one of the ten largest producers of seamless stainless pipes in the world, and it exports its products to more than 70 countries. In some of them, in particular, in Germany, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, the UAE and the USA, the Ukrainian company has its own sales offices. A significant share of its exports is the American market, the company cooperates with General Motors, NASA and others.
Despite the difficult situation in Ukraine and the city of Nikopol, the company has kept its team, customers and production. In January-November 2022, Centravis produced 10.6 thousand tons of seamless pipes and continues to help the rear and front during full-scale Russian aggression.
As GMK Center reported earlier, in January-October 2022, the company transferred more than UAH 230 million in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels of Ukraine. The largest amount of funds went to the account of extra-budgetary funds – almost UAH 172 million. The local budget was replenished by UAH 41.7 million and the state budget by UAH 16.8 million.
In January, Centravis announced that it is completing work on the opening of a new production site in Uzhhorod. The new enterprise in the west of Ukraine will produce tubes for car fuel systems. They plan to hire about 100 workers. Due to the new automated line, the minimum number of people will be involved in production.
