The development of alternative energy is in the perspective of post-war recovery. Already now, the Government of Ukraine and international partners are developing a joint vision of post-war green recovery. In particular, it includes the decentralization of the energy system, increasing the share of renewable energy sources, rebuilding the infrastructure taking into account energy efficiency, etc.
DIA supports projects aimed at the development of new energy sources, increasing the efficiency of energy use, reducing the impact on the environment and ensuring sustainable energy development of the region. The mentioned projects can be divided according to directions:
Development of wind energy – investments in the construction of wind farms in the Pokrovskа community on a land plot of more than 90 hectares. This includes installing wind turbines, creating infrastructure to connect to the electricity grid, and conducting research on the potential of wind energy in the region.
Solar energy – investments in the construction of solar power plants in Vakulivska and Shirokivska communities, which is offered by the business of the region – TOV “MEGAVATY” (3 land plots with a total area of 36 hectares, with a planned capacity of about 20 MW). This includes the production of electricity from renewable sources, the generation of environmentally safe electricity for the purpose of further sale at the “green” tariff, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions during the production of electricity, as well as the creation of more than 20 jobs.
Energy storage – an investment project of “MAIN GROUP EUROPE Ltd” for the development and improvement of energy storage technologies, which is of great importance for ensuring the stability of supply. Includes the construction of a hydrogen production plant using renewable solar energy. Planned capacity for the project: solar power plant – 95 MW, water electrolyzer – 20 MW and storage systems – 20 MW.
The project has a high potential for the developed industries of the region, namely enterprises of the metallurgical and metalworking industry, machine building, military-industrial complex, aircraft construction, rocket and space industry, chemical and petrochemical industry, etc., which are ready to introduce the use of green hydrogen in the production process.
The company’s investment needs are estimated at 124 million euros. The main mechanisms of cooperation with the investor are own funds – 30% and a potential investor – 70%.
Energy efficiency in construction – represented by 40 restoration projects* from communities, which are aimed at reducing energy consumption, increasing energy efficiency and are important for reducing the load on energy systems. These are complex issues that include capital repair or reconstruction of the building and implementation of such effective solutions as: replacement of windows, doors, installation of counters and insulation of facades.
