Investment potential of Dnipropetrovsk region in wartime and DIA’s digital tools

February 2022 brought a new reality for every Ukrainian, which changed the life of both the region and the entire independent Ukraine.

The Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency is also being transformed in wartime conditions. Currently, the Agency supports 27 investment projects and 34 offers of land plots for the implementation of business ideas, which are offered to interested companies upon request.

Despite the state of war, there is very high interest in Dnipropetrovsk region from both Ukrainian businesses and international partners. 25 applications from potential investors were processed for 2022, including: 

  • 11 requests from countries (Germany, France, Japan, Poland, Czech Republic, etc.) and partners (UkraineInvest, USAID for Agrarian and Rural Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, communities of the region) regarding cooperation and identification of priority areas for possible investment in production on the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region;
  • 10 proposals from representatives of businesses and communities of the region regarding the development and support of investment projects;
  • 4 business relocation requests from company representatives regarding the consideration of the possibility of renting or buying a building for relocating production to the Dnipropetrovsk region.

At the same time, the number of visitors to the Investment Portal is growing. The end of the year showed us more than 60 thousand users who provided more than 220 thousand views of the portal pages. Active visitors of the Investment Portal, in addition to Ukraine, are representatives of such countries as: the USA, Poland, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, the People’s Republic of China, the Netherlands, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Canada, Israel, Spain, Turkey, Sweden, Switzerland, Lithuania, Hungary , India, Austria, Japan, etc.

In 2022, we also had successful examples of attracting investments to the region, among them: a project to create a recreational zone on the banks of the Dnipro River and 4 investment real estate objects used for the implementation of projects in the field of agriculture and industry.

Following the trends of digitalization, DIA introduces interactive tools for getting to know the potential of the region in both wartime and postwar times.

The most relevant indicators of the state of investment activity and the main sectors of the economy, collected in the annual edition of the Investment Guide 2022/2023;

Land plots with an area of more than 1,800 hectares for the implementation of residential development projects and about 400,000 m² of free industrial space offered for business relocation to the region are presented on the investment map of Dnipropetrovsk region (this information is available upon prior request).

Volumes of foreign trade, direct foreign and capital investments, as well as the opportunity to compare the indicators of the region with Ukrainian ones and get acquainted with enterprises that carried out their foreign economic activities, can be obtained in the DIAGRAM Open Data Module;
