Support for Ukrainian producers: Cabinet of Ministers simplifies import of certain goods for the production of special vehicles

The Cabinet of Ministers has authorized the importation of certain types of goods under the customs regime of processing in the customs territory of Ukraine for further production of special vehicles at Ukrainian enterprises. In particular, this refers to the manufacture of special purpose vehicles for use in Ukraine by units of the National Police, medics, the State Emergency Service, law enforcement agencies and military formations. Further export of such special vehicles to EU countries is also envisaged. The decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on June 4.

“Supporting Ukrainian producers, in particular by simplifying the import of goods for further processing and manufacturing of value-added products, is a priority for the Government. After all, added value with the possibility of further exporting such products to the EU markets is a condition for strengthening the national economy. At today’s meeting, the Government abolished duties for a group of goods that will be used for the production of special vehicles to support the work of national special services. The development of industry, processing and increase in the production of Ukrainian products is what the Government is working on as part of the “Made in Ukraine” policy together with business and international partners. A strong economy is the key to our defense capability,” commented Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine – Trade Representative of Ukraine.

It is noted that this decision will help to increase the production of vehicles at the existing facilities of Ukrainian enterprises, preserve existing and create new jobs.

The agency adds that this step is part of the “Made in Ukraine” policy, which the Government is implementing together with business and international partners to develop industry and increase the country’s defense capabilities.

The “Made in Ukraine” program was presented by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on February 26. During the event, he said that a national cashback program, Buy Ukrainian, would be launched this year, allowing Ukrainian citizens to receive a portion of the money spent on goods made by Ukrainian producers.
