Ukraine and Germany deepen cooperation to support small and medium-sized businesses

First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Martin Jaeger signed a Joint Declaration on the renewal and continuation of the business development program for small and medium-sized enterprises “Partnership in Business with Germany”. The program is aimed at establishing business contacts between Ukrainian entrepreneurs and German businesses and communities, which will help SMEs develop and enter international markets.

“Today we are renewing our cooperation program with Germany and extending it for three years. It will facilitate the establishment of long-term partnerships, exchange of experience, professional development of Ukrainian entrepreneurs, and open up new opportunities for joint projects,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

As part of the program, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) will organize competitions for Ukrainian SME managers over the next three years. The winners will have the opportunity to take online and in-person training, participate in workshops, visit German companies and establish direct business contacts.

Cooperation between Ukraine and Germany in the field of small and medium-sized business development has been going on for over 20 years. Over this time, about 1,900 Ukrainian managers have been trained to help them integrate the best international business practices and expand their export opportunities.

Today, the Program not only supports the development of Ukrainian entrepreneurship, but also works to rebuild our country. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine expresses its gratitude to the German government and GIZ for supporting the functioning of Ukrainian business, in particular in times of war, and encourages entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the updated program.
