Foreign trade of Dnipropetrovsk region for 9 months of 2022

Ukraine continues to heroically resist the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation, including by resuming production. The destruction of logistics routes, chains of supply of components and finished products, the destruction of enterprises from shelling by the occupiers, significantly affected the results of trade of the region’s enterprises with the countries of the world.

According to the results of the III quarters of 2022, the foreign trade turnover of goods decreased by 40.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2021, and amounted to $8.1 bln (11.4% of the total volume of Ukraine).

The positive balance is $2247.5 mln.

According to the results of 9 months of 2022, enterprises of Dnipropetrovsk region exported their own products worth $5,184.6 mln (15.7% of Ukraine’s exports). Compared to the corresponding period last year, the decrease in exports is 45.7%. In the III quarter of the current year, the volume of export of goods amounted to $1,283.9 mln.

The largest share of exports was ferrous metals and their products 45.5% ($2357.3 mln), as well as ores and slag 34.7% ($1798.4 mln). Although the export of ore and slag decreased by 56.2% compared to the corresponding period last year, the share in Ukraine’s exports remains at the level of more than 60%.

At the same time, there is an increase in export volumes of the following types of products:

  • raw or skinned skins 2 times ($5.4 mln);
  • products of animal origin by 19.5% ($30.9 mln);
  • products of vegetable origin by 14.6% ($153.7 mln);
  • oil and products of its distillation by 26.8% ($98.7 mln);
  • wood and wood products by 43.4% ($8.5 mln).

The import of goods from the countries of the world to Dnipropetrovsk region for 9 months of 2022 amounted to $2937.1 million (7.6% of the volume of imports of Ukraine) and decreased by 26.6% compared to the previous period.

Mineral products, machinery and equipment, and chemical products remain the most popular among domestic consumers.

Compared to the corresponding period last year, only the volume of import of plant products increased by 30% ($114.4 million).

Foreign trade operations were conducted with partners from 163 countries.
