Grants to support participation in trade events

The USAID Competitive Economy Program (CEP), implemented by Chemonics International, is seeking grant applications for the implementation of activities to support the participation of Ukrainian businesses in international trade events, including overseas trade missions and visits to, and participation in, exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, conventions, business to business (B2B) meetings, and other business matchmaking events, as well as international trade events in Ukraine. USAID CEP anticipates awarding up to 1,000,000 USD through up to 20 anticipated grant awards.

Participation of Ukrainian businesses in these activities will enable and facilitate the recovery and re-activation of export sales, investment attraction, increase access to foreign markets, investors and funding, and help identify new business opportunities to utilize. These efforts will help Ukrainian businesses to overcome disruptions caused by the war, ensure businesses continuity and resilience, as well as help SMEs to sustain business activities, grow globally and ultimately support Ukraine’s economy.

Non-governmental organizations and individual entrepreneurs/private enterprises are eligible for grant awards. Under this RFA, an individual entrepreneurs/private enterprise may apply on behalf of itself only or on behalf of other SME businesses as direct beneficiaries as well; in the latter case both the applicant selected for grant award and the beneficiary businesses must benefit from the grant activity.

The application process will consist of a single stage. Applicants shall submit an application and a detailed grant budget. There are three deadlines for grant applications:

  • until August 19, 2022;
  • until September 30, 2022;
  • until November 25, 2022.
